One Hundred Years of Solitude is undoubtedly the most famous novel of 20th-century Spanish American literature. Some critics have framed One Hundred Years of Solitude in what is known as magical realism or "the marvelous real", a literary current of Latin American countries where reality coexists with the supernatural, while the characters of the works experience the phenomenon without any astonishment.
